“Dinu Grigorescu's "Last Coffee with Iuliu Maniu" combines inspired drama with history and memoir, real fact and document, placing them in a carefully thought out and captivating theatrical construction. The action is dynamic, it takes place in very different spaces and in different historical moments, significant for the evolution of Romania. (...) It is a historical theatre of very good quality, an example of how historical theatre should be made, in the true sense of the word, and the autobiographical character makes the play unique, without a doubt."

Domnica Țundrea

"My play is not a biography of the illustrious personage in the history of Romanians, which is the job of the specialists. As a playwright, I was concerned with the fascination of the political idol, the martyr visionary, that is, the Maniu Effect (patriotic moral of Maniu), on the "fans" of the time, not a few, who followed him to the point of tragic identification."

Dinu Grigorescu

"The project entitled Radio Teatrofonic aims to interweave the procedures of research and exploitation of a dramatic text (through reading, interpretation and microphone recording) in a dynamic process (inspired by the one in the studio of the National Radio Theatre) spent (in a novel way) with the intellectual and emotional participation of the spectators «on the spot»."

Mihai Lungeanu

"«Last Coffee with Iuliu Maniu» is the moving story of a young man who witnesses tumultuous historical events that will forever affect his life. A drama of great sensitivity, performed by some of the great actors of the National Theatre of Bucharest. The project combines theatre with multimedia in a highly original way that will appeal to young people. It is part of TNB's effort to recover Romania's recent history and give voice to contemporary drama."

"Last coffee with Iuliu Maniu" is more than a dramatic text, it is a heartbreakingly honest confession that I associate with a masterpiece by E. Munch - The Scream!!! Surprising for the author of "Merry Hell" spirited in puns and ingenious in the comedy of language, this document has a breathtaking dramatic force that I received as a life lesson. Listening with emotion to the inspired reading formula proposed by Mihai Lungeanu with an impressive cast, I relived the moments spent in the martyr's cell, the only thing really well done at the Sighet Memorial! The tragedy continued in thousands of families like the author's, ours, and I hope that such a thing will never be possible again...although history repeats itself!
