About IICCMER
The Institute for the Investigation of Communist Crimes and the Memory of the Romanian Exile (IICCMER) is a governmental body established in 2005 and under the coordination of the Prime Minister. Its role is, above all, the administration and analysis, from a scientific standpoint, of totalitarianism and its effects. Secondly, IICCMER supports the creation and implementation of educational instruments with memorial purpose, thus contributing to the articulation of the context, in which fundamental rights and values are perceived by our post-totalitarian society. Last but not least, IICCMER serves at gathering, archiving and publishing documents concerning the memory of Romanian exile.
