There is that "something" in the art of the actor and all-round theatre man, Dan Puric, that has conquered not only the sophisticated audience, but also the cultural novice.

There is that "something" in the energy of this original artist, whose scenic talent, coupled with an intellectual charm, melts social, ethnic and language barriers.

There is, in fact, a brilliant spirit, creator of a universal language, accessible to the human soul.

Authentic and true, with a moral and national artistic conscience, always attentive to people and their needs in the times we are going through, Puric offers us a "Journey towards what has been lost: towards the soul, love and the joy of living". In a unique concept, masterfully combined, tap dance, pantomime, dance and music offer surprising dimensions to the communication of body expressions in movement. With Dan Puric's show, we are closer to human values and feelings that are increasingly alien to today's world: dignity, beauty, love, soul, nobility, art, gentleness, candor, humor, spirit, harmony, joy and purity of soul.

A performance about gratitude - "The Journey" is dedicated to the late ballerina and choreographer Malou Iosif (1925 - 2023).

"This performance proposes a "journey" to the heart of the human being, so abandoned today, to the Romanian soul untainted by the times, to the privilege of loving and laughing! Those who will purchase their "ticket" will have the chance to find themselves in what they are and, above all, in what they need to be! There will be "stations" where they will be able to reflect on life, others where they will remember the mystery of love and many others where they will rediscover the joy of life!" Dan Puric

"The spectator is invited to walk through a subjective map of the Bucharest subway, globalized but on the traces of an unaltered past. We find, among the travelers of this artistic tour, metaphors of resistance, of the honest, not at all unostentatious man (Amalia Ciolan remains a key presence). The viewers recognize the preoccupation with mentalities and typologies, among which one character has always stood out: the classicist/elegance. The presence of actresses such as Irina Cojar, Iuliana Moise or Liliana Hodorogea as well as of the ensembles of young dancers becomes a combination of refinement, seduction and rigor understood as a form of self-respect and respect for others. After all, elegance can be an inner luxury as well as - of course - an outer one. Plastic beauty is extended sonorously in the chords of music that has become an aesthetic paracommentary (selectively, we recall creations by famous composers: Antonio Vivaldi, Luigi Boccherini, Dmitri Shostakovic, but also Romanian ballads, performed by or hits by Frank Sinatra, Amália Rodrigues, Beth Hart, Lady Gaga and Caro Emerald).

Candor and vulgarity are analyzed in the spotlight (Light design: Mircea Mitroi, Bogdan Golumbeanu), and the signs of globalization are present in every moment of the show".

Mădălina Dumitrache, Bel Esprit - The Journey: Bucharest kaleidoscope

"The Journey by Dan Puric – a great performance in this spring that ignores the gunplay in the chaotic time of the world like a chessboard where fools are kings and mankind - a bunch of pawns with their little lives, thrown into the great mess - the diabolical game of who pushes the button first.  As long as there is still art theatre and people who faithfully serve it, it is good! And what could be more refreshing than the cascading laughter of the audience in the darkness of a theatre? So let's laugh while we still can!"

Paula Romanescu, Luceafarul - The evening of March 24, 2023. Premiere at NTB - The Journey

"The show is genuinely a disconnect from the tense day by day and a pleasure to watch and listen to. From where we expected to hear Dan Puric all the time, we discover him discreetly and factually in several artistically well-directed and very well assembled poses throughout the story. Nearly 50 actors support what at first glance seemed like a one-man show, being a rather mildly popular satire of Romania that includes filling the subway with a mix of foreign nationals who can't even communicate with law enforcement. New trends of excessive human robotization are presented through the merging of man with the mobile phone and the rupture from the universe of books.

The almost 50 characters who pass or remain on stage more or less form a universe of the Romanian metro and, we can say, universal at the same time, the journey that is proposed to us is basically a journey through our lives, each one of us, from one station to another, romantic, rhythmic and sensual as the case may be. Music casts away all kinds of dark thoughts and gives us plenty of opportunity to feel settled in a much-desired and absolutely necessary state of normality".

Dinu Grigorescu, Rinocerul magazine - The Journey by Dan Puric

"Superb! 'The Journey' is a journey through people, from their past history, to their lost humanity. Through dance, pantomime, few lines but many subliminal messages, Dan Puric and Doina Levintza's enchanting costumes give the spectator an image and nostalgia for what was, but also the drama of what is to come."

INFOinsider - The Journey, NTB: A performance about HUMANS, for what/how much is left of them!

"Always vulnerable, oscillating between the universe of creation and that of materiality, the Artist wears their masks violently among their peers. The meanings of words would cause confusion, which is why the spiritualized expression of the actor's meditative gaze helps the spectator enter another world. So, sustained by the Artist's sensitivity, the viewer sneaks into the vehicle provided by Dan Puric in his recent performance: 'The Journey'.

The team coordinated by Dan Puric fills the wide space of the "Ion Caramitru" Stage, at the National Theatre from Bucharest, with an overflowing energy, exposing living metaphors organized under his aesthetic cast, in which he mixes the classical/traditional and the postmodern in an original mashup. "The Journey" is a performance conceived as a scenic discourse in living paintings.

The stage director has relied on the humorous tone of tackling serious themes such as love, national history, ageing, and resistance to changing mentalities, preconceptions, hedonism and rampant globalization."
