Show presented in partnership with Unteatru
The adaptation for the stage and direction of the show based on Mircea Eliade's short story, signed by Andrei and Andreea Grosu, shed a new light on the fantasy and dream of history starring Professor Gavrilescu. Not only does the Unteatru show capture Eliade's atmosphere, but it ingeniously and elegantly manages to decipher this text and its subtleties, in an intimate and clean approach.
Professor Gavrilescu can be retraced in the smallest details, gestures, or glances of Richard Bovnoczki’s performance. A performance that adds a new layer of mystery and fantasy to the show. Each of us identifies with Gavrilescu's amazement, bewilderment, and dismay, when faced with our own destiny and especially the twisted meshes of love.
The characters that populate this dream-show are impersonated by actors in multiple roles:
• Mihaela Trofimov impersonates the gypsy grandmother and also the naive, unforgettable Hildegard
• Liviu Pintileasa is the tram ticket inspector - a Caron concealed in human skin, but also one of the neighbours of the teacher's family
• Corina Moise, Florina Gleznea, Cristina Casian and Florentina Țilea are, in turn, the gypsy girls - the Greek, the Jew and the Gypsy and other characters from the labyrinthine universe of the show
• Bogdan Cotleț embodies two characters who bring a splash of colour and normalcy to Eliade's world
