The stage project Confusions is based on the novel The Confusions of Young Törless by Austrian author Robert Musil. The story evolves around a young man named Törless who experiences physical and (homo)erotic maturation during his time in military school somewhere on the periphery of the Habsburg Monarchy.

The structure of Confusions is firmly determined by duration, tempo and dynamics of selected musical scores (2nd Simphony by Peteris Vasks and the final scene of Wagner's opera Siegfried) which at times support, and at times subvert the plot of the novel by creating their own meta-narration.

… Confusions disorients you until you jettison your preconceived notions of narrative theater (…) Just be prepared to be pushed into new, uncomfortable, and exhilarating territory.
Out Magazine, New York, SAD

... in a nightmarish and energetic rhythm in which it is almost impossible to follow through any of the notions (…) the actors boldly withstand all challenges forced upon them by the director as a meta-pedagogical and meta-sadistic element of the performance…
Večernji list, Zagreb, Croatia

… in the finale, the audience is immersed in a dreamlike pathos which constantly wavers between parody and tragedy, the most sublime and the most banal, while insisting on simultaneity and inseparability of its ecstatic extremes.
Novi list, Rijeka, Croatia
