This international dramatic prayer for salvation of the survivors – "Cyril and Methodius - who are you?!" is spoken in the theatre temple constructed in 100 minutes, anywhere on Earth, and is based on the principle of the ancient tragedy – art is indebted to each and every person separately.
For the first time in contemporary dramaturgy, the main protagonists are situated at opposite sides of the world: Cyril Belomorski, as a professor at Columbia University, and Methodius, as a main piping engineer in Gazprom. They were given their names in honor to the medieval missionaries Cyril and Methodius, who introduced the slavic civilization onto the world`s historical stage, along with the hebrew, latin and the greek civilization. They did so in the period between 815 and 885, by their translation of the Bible into old church slavonic. 1100 years after their death, on 31 december 1980, pope John Paul II declared them Patron Saints of Europe, because of the timeless spiritual power of their preaching on civilizationof love and nostalgia for the unity.
The contemporary Cyril and Methodius carry their names because their father, Lav Belomorski, political emigrant, was born in the 20th century, in the village where the great accomplishment initiated, and he performs an individual action in front of the un headquarters, demanding his right to be buried by the well of his childhood, in the forgotten village in northern Greece.
This individual and family drama, fierce in intensity, takes place between Siberia and New York, in Ohrid – the slavic Jerusalem, in Sofia – the contemporary center of the center of the legacy of Cyril and Methodius, in Celje, in the ruined cities of Ukraine, in Prague, in Washington, in Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan, in Greece, and it finally resolves at the endless beaches of Santa Monica, where the new Cyril and Methodius are being born. Is the existence of civilization of love and nostalgia for the unity possible in these cruel times, in local and global perspective, now that every human hope is repeatedly being destroyed?!
