Erik Truffaz Quartet
Jazz.ro announces the participation of Swiss singer Sophie Hunger on the occasion of the Erik Truffaz Quartet concert on 16 May 2016, Bucharest. The 33-year-old artist established in Berlin, with over 250.000 albums sold worldwide, replenishes the Quartet of Truffaz through a unique scenic presence, filled with ingenuity and vitality at the same time.
Erik Truffaz Quartet returns to Bucharest, this time alongside its quartet, shortly after the launch of its last album Doni Doni at the prestigious record label Parlophone. Doni Doni, which in Mali language means „bit by bit” reflects the way this album has been conceived, after a three-year break, through the collaboration of two multi-awarded and internationally established voices, Rokia Traore and Oxmo Puccino. Venerata Traore and giant French hip hop singer Oxmo are two radically opposed artists, who are impeccably merged thanks to the music of the Erik Truffaz Quartet. The album Doni Doni also benefits from the South-African influences of the collaboration with the contemporary dance company, Vuyani.
Alongside Erik Truffaz, the quartet is completed by Benoit Corboz - keys, Marcello Giuliani - bass and the latest addition, Arthur Hnatek - drums. Erik Truffaz, joined by his quartet with which he sold over 700.000 records, shall perform in Bucharest on May 16, 2016 at the National Theatre of Bucharest, Studio Hall, as of 8:00 p.m. This concert is organized by the Jazz. ro association and is kindly supported by the Swiss Embassy and Swiss Fund.
Tickets are available online on www.eventim.ro and in the network of the Germanos, Carrefour, Orange, Vodafone stores, in the Humanitas and Cărturești bookstores and the OMV gas stations.
