After a short-story by Hermann Broch, Austrian writer nominated for the Nobel Prize for Literature, The Chambermaid is a show about the passion, pleasure and pain of a forbidden love story between a maid and a nobleman that breaches cast limitations. More beautiful, more intelligent, stronger and more sensual than her mistress, Zerline has lived for her mistress, whom she served, but also instead of her mistress, only better. Looking back, her only fortune is a tormenting past which reveals frustrations and defeat, resentment and capital sins for which she considers herself guilty: envy, pride, revelry. A one-woman-show of a great actress, a character of unsettling tragedy because of the scream she uses to quench her thirst for revenge.

Zerline: Florina Cercel Hildegard: Liliana Tofan
