At NTB - exhibition of projects from the 2025 National Triennale of Restoration - 10th Edition

The National Union of Historical Monument Restorers (UNRMI) announces the organization of the Project Exhibition and Awards Gala of the 2025 National Triennale of Restoration - 10th Edition in the Media Foyer of the "I.L. Caragiale" National Theater in Bucharest - a cultural institution that is a traditional partner of UNRMI and the National Restoration Triennial.
The exhibition will be open to visitors starting November 2, 2025, and the Triennial Awards Gala will take place on Thursday, November 6, 2025, starting at 5 p.m.
UNRMI, founded in 1991 (President - founder Prof. Dr. Arch. Virgiliu Polizu), is a professional guild organization that includes some of the best specialists in the field of historical monument restoration in Romania. In 2025, UNRMI will celebrate 34 years of existence, and its traditional event - the National Restoration Triennial (TNR) - will reach its 10th edition in 2025.
Once every three years, UNRMI members present their restoration projects implemented and completed over the previous three years at this event and submit them for evaluation by an independent jury of professionals in the field.
The program of the National Triennale Restoration Gala focuses on awarding diplomas for the best restoration projects selected by the jury, as well as the opening of the exhibition of participating projects. The event will also feature the launch of the Hereditas photo album, which presents 302 images of 10 historical monuments restored by RASUB Construct Engineering (a member of UNRMI) and Art & Resturo Building between 2019 and 2025. The launch will be accompanied by an exhibition of photographs from the album.
The 2025 National Triennale of Restoration - 10th Edition - features 19 members of UNRMI with 58 historical monument restoration projects, as well as specialized studies, investigations, and research projects - works implemented and completed over the last 3 years.
The Jury of NTR 2025 - 10th Edition - is composed of:
- Arch. Irina Popescu Criveanu
- Painter and restorer Simona Patrascu
- Arch. Constantin Gorcea
- Prof. Nicolae Noica, PhD - Director of the Romanian Academy Library, Honorary Member of the Romanian Academy
- Arhg. Theodor Ignat - Head of the Archaeology Department at the Bucharest Municipal Museum
The judging categories established for which prizes will be awarded are:
1. Monuments in urban and rural areas - places of worship
2. Monuments in urban and rural areas - civil constructions
3. Fortresses and archaeological sites
4. Wooden churches
5. Artistic components
6. Specialized studies, investigations, and research
NTR 2025 will also award the following two special prizes:
- Special Award from the Bucharest City Hall
- Special Award from the President of UNRMI
The 2025 National Triennale of Restoration exhibition will be open until November 16, 2025, in the exhibition space in the foyer of the Media Hall at the I.L. Caragiale National Theater in Bucharest, a cultural institution that is a traditional partner of UNRMI and the National Triennale of Restoration.
The winning projects at NTR 2025 will be announced and presented on UNRMI's communication channels: unrmi.com and facebook.com/UNRMI, as well as in Status Quo magazine (Vol. 16/2025), which will be published at the end of 2025.
