Prominent ballet names come to Romania, on January 20th, 2020, from 8 pm, to the Grand Hall of the National Theatre of Bucharest, for a unique show, dedicated to Queen Elizabeth of Romania (Carmen Sylva), patroness of arts, founder of charitable institutions, poet, essayist and writer.
On the stage will be great artists such as the famous Iana Salenko and Dinu Tămăzlăcaru, ballerinas of Staatsballett Berlin, Brooklyn Mack, International Principal Guest Artist, Francesca Velicu, demi-soloist at the English National Ballet, for the first time on a stage in Romania after she won the Olivier prize; Julian MacKay, first ballerina at the Mikhailovsky Theater in Russia and Marina Minoiu, ballerina at the Royal Danish Theater.
The "Carmen Sylva" Ballet Gala, a show by Ars Gratia Regalia, will stage an authentic labyrinth of emotions, marked by everything the personality of Carmen Sylva means to our culture. We will find fragments of classical ballet under the signature of great and major choreographers such as Sir Frederick Ashton, Johan Kobborg, Mauro de Candia, choreographies inspired by the magic of the forest and moments from great love stories. Also, choreographer Andrei Cozlac will create, for the first time, a moment dedicated to the Queen Writer, Carmen Sylva.
