The National Union of Historical Monument Restorers (UNRMI) announces the organization of the Project Exhibition and Awards Gala of the 2025 National Triennale of Restoration - 10th Edition in the Media Foyer of the "I.L. Caragiale" National Theater in Bucharest - a cultural institution that is a traditional partner of UNRMI and the National Restoration Triennial. The exhibition will be open to visitors starting November 2, 2025, and the Triennial Awards Gala will take place on Thursday, November 6, 2025, starting at 5 p.m. UNRMI, founded in 1991 (President - founder Prof. Dr. Arch. Virgiliu Polizu), is a professional guild organization that includes some of the best specialists in the field of historical monument restoration in Romania. In 2025, UNRMI will celebrate 34 years of existence, and its traditional event - the National Restoration Triennial (TNR) - will reach its 10th edition in 2025. Once every three years, UNRMI members present their restoration projects implemented and completed over the previous three years at this event and submit them for evaluation by an independent jury of professionals in the field. The program of the National Triennale Restoration Gala focuses on awarding diplomas for the best restoration projects selected by the jury, as well as the opening of the exhibition of participating projects. The event will also feature the launch of the Hereditas photo album, which presents 302 images of 10 historical monuments restored by RASUB Construct Engineering (a member of UNRMI) and Art & Resturo Building between 2019 and 2025. The launch will be accompanied by an exhibition of photographs from the album. The 2025 National Triennale of Restoration - 10th Edition - features 19 members of UNRMI with 58 historical monument restoration projects, as well as specialized studies, investigations, and research projects - works implemented and completed over the last 3 years. The Jury of NTR 2025 - 10th Edition - is composed of:- Arch. Irina Popescu Criveanu- Painter and restorer Simona Patrascu- Arch. Constantin Gorcea- Prof. Nicolae Noica, PhD - Director of the Romanian Academy Library, Honorary Member of the Romanian Academy- Arhg. Theodor Ignat - Head of the Archaeology Department at the Bucharest Municipal Museum The judging categories established for which prizes will be awarded are:1. Monuments in urban and rural areas - places of worship2. Monuments in urban and rural areas - civil constructions3. Fortresses and archaeological sites4. Wooden churches5. Artistic components6. Specialized studies, investigations, and research NTR 2025 will also award the following two special prizes:- Special Award from the Bucharest City Hall- Special Award from the President of UNRMI The 2025 National Triennale of Restoration exhibition will be open until November 16, 2025, in the exhibition space in the foyer of the Media Hall at the I.L. Caragiale National Theater in Bucharest, a cultural institution that is a traditional partner of UNRMI and the National Triennale of Restoration. Starting September 18, 2025, Ana Iulia Mihesan's painting exhibition Layers of Memory can be visited in the Rotonda foyer of the Small Hall of the "I.L. Caragiale" National Theater. The exhibition's opening is scheduled for Monday, September 29, at 6 p.m. Based in Greece, Ana Iulia Mihesan studied art in Cluj-Napoca, both at the Romul Ladea High School and at the renowned University of Art and Design in the city. From the outset, she approached painting with great seriousness and with the modern intensity characteristic of those who studied in Cluj. She had several exhibitions in Cluj and Athens, and in 2023 she returned to Romania with her first solo exhibition at the Athenee Palace Hilton, which amazed viewers with its deeply profound paintings, generating an atmosphere and images of paradisiacal gardens or unique experiences. In a short time, he had several important exhibitions, culminating in "Transcendence" at the New Hall of the National Museum of the Romanian Peasant in 2024. Art critic Marius Tita, editor-in-chief of Radio Romania International and curator of Ana Iulia Mihesan's exhibitions in Romania, presented the new pictorial creation appearing on Bucharest's walls as a revelation: With a little boldness and a lot of sincerity, we could recognize Ana Iulia Mihesan's painting as the revelation of recent years in this field. Her painting is intense, powerful, and expressive. The atmosphere is essential, and the subtle chiaroscuro transports us into the world of great painting. It has been a long time since I have seen such a unique exhibition. The artist is discovering the Bucharest art scene, and the public in the Romanian capital is enthusiastically learning about a new work, the painting of Ana Iulia Mihesan.
