Caramitru – Mălăele, Spinning a Yarn
It is not a joke! Ion Caramitru, Horațiu Mălăele and Adrian Naidin will meet again on April 1, for the second time this year, on the National Theatre's stage for a show that you will remember forever.
Seductive, with irresistible humour and the profundity that made them legends, the two dialogue partners look for each other, seek to understand and test one another, in a show applauded by critics and the public alike. It was last season's revelation, a sell-out performance every time. Between the two, Adrian Naidin, the musical moderator of this enchanting show, makes wonders with his cello and an exceptional voice. His voice is tailored from a traditional authentic lode, a timbre specific to Romanian ballads of the kind that take your breath away.
Last year's most applauded representation, "Caramitru - Mălăele, Spinning a Yarn" is an improvisation show, because "improvisation is an actor's state of grace," as Horațiu Mălăele says. Therefore the rhythm is always different, the show is always interpreted in full force, it is funnier and more profound from one edition to the other.
"Horațiu Mălăele is the best product of the Romanian theatre in the last 20 years. A complex personality as an actor, theatre director and, more recently, as a film director", says Ion Caramitru.
‘The great artist Caramitru is formed of a malleable and ductile material, which can take the form of any artistic act that is of public interest', says Horațiu Mălăele.
