Mehmet Ateșçi

Mehmet Ateşçi was born in Berlin in 1987 and grew up in Naunynstraße, located at Berlin’s Kreuzberg neighbourhood, which is known for its high number of immigrants. He is a graduate of the Zurich Academy of the Arts, where he performed in the productions Batman Genesis, directed by Laura Koerfer, Raststätte oder sie machen‘s alle (Wie Tiere),directed by Peter Kastenmüller and Ralf Fiedler, and Der Belagerungszustand, directedby Christoph Frick. Mehmet Ateşçi received encouragement awards from the Armin Ziegler Foundation and the Zurich Theatre Association. In 2012 he performed in Verrücktes Blut at Ballhaus Naunynstraße and in Alice at the Lucerne Municipal Theatre. Since the season 2013/2014 Mehmet Ateşçi is a company member of the Gorki Theatre where he worked with, among others, Falk Richter, Yael Ronen, Ersan Mondtag, Nurkan Erpulat and Oliver Frljić. Currently he can be seen in Roma Armee, Ein Bericht für eine Akademie, Salome, Glaube Liebe Hoffnung and GOЯKI – Alternative für Deutschland?
