In a provincial town in the Prahova Valley, a stranger is taken off the train at the station because she doesn't have a ticket. She has just come from the casino and is carrying only the chips she won. Professor Miroiu, who is at the station waiting for a very expensive book from Bucharest, offers to host her for the night, during which time an emotional relationship develops between the two. Miroiu has discovered an invisible star behind another star near the Great Bear, unknown on the celestial vault, and does not know what name to give it. When he learns that the unknown star is called Mona, he thinks of naming it after her. In the morning Grig, with whom Mona has been in a relationship for three years, appears. Will she eventually return to his world, leaving the dreamy astronomer?
