Workshops
New Media Practices in the Context of Performing Arts by Andrei Cozlac
From June 14 to June 20, 2023, the "Ion Sava" Centre for Research and Theatre Creation organizes a workshop on New Media Practices in the context of performing arts, held by visual artist Andrei Cozlac.
Andrei has collaborated in numerous theatre productions with important directors and set designers, on stages in Romania and abroad. In 2019, at the UNITER Gala, he was awarded the Special Prize for video-mapping, and in 2022 the Prize for video design of the show "The Ploughman and Death" at the National Theatre "Vasile Alecsandri" in Iasi.
The workshop New Media Practices in the context of performing arts aims to bring together a series of debates and experiments in relation to how new media practices are disseminated in the context of theatre or performance and how new forms of visual expression can constitute new methods of dialogue and artistic knowledge.
This workshop aims at a deeper understanding of the kind of symbiotic relationship that can be achieved by merging artistic mediums and transcending the specific languages of the video or performative medium into a body of its own.
The workshop is divided into two phases: the theoretical phase (2 days) and the practical and experimental phase (5 days), which will be concluded in an exhibition at the end of the workshop.
A maximum of 10 participants will have access to the Workshop.
