A production of "Teatrul Mic"

"'Night, Mother" by Marsha Norman is a text that showed up within the "Theater for Actors… And Only with Actors" program of "Teatrul Mic". This is a program that aims to focus more on the details of acting and less on the director's vision. So working with the actor is what comes first. The rehearsals for the show took place mostly on Zoom, which led to the idea of the show, as you will see.

"'Night, Mother" tells the story of a daughter who announces her mother that she will commit suicide. On this occasion unspoken things are said, carefully hidden details are found out and issues left unsolved are now settled.

I'm sure we'll all find ourselves in Marsha Norman's characters! I conclude by inviting the audience to the meeting with two wonderful actresses of "Teatrul Mic", Andreea Grămoșteanu and Dana Dembinski. Vlad Massaci

The play "'Night, Mother" written by the American author Marsha Norman won the Pulitzer Prize in 1983 and was nominated for the Tony Awards in the category "Best Play".

"The play was first staged on Broadway by Dann Byck, Wendell Cherry, The Shubert Organization and Frederick M. Zollo. The original production was directed by Tom Moore.

The play was first staged by the American Repertory Theatre, Cambridge, Mass.
