"Noises Off" is an adaptation of Michael Frayn's paly with the same title, considered to be "the funniest farce ever written". The play features a group of actors who rehearse a failed play called "Nothing On". We follow the development of this production in three key stages: the dress rehearsal, the premiere and one of the final performances, when the physical and mental wear and tear of this tour takes its toll. The characters are diverse and memorable: an ambitious director trying to maintain order in a cast of mediocre actors, each with oversized egos and complicated life stories. Intense emotions, personal dramas and misunderstandings between the actors create a gripping show where the real comic and dramatic moments unfold backstage.
"Noises Off" is more than just a comedy. It's a mirror of life as an actor, where every day brings new challenges and surprises, and the line between fact and fiction constantly blurs.
Slammed doors, stage and backstage intrigue and a misplaced platter of sardines are just some of the plot elements of this classic and hilarious comedy.
We invite you to join us for a unique theatrical experience where chaos and hilarity are the norm and the magic of theatre comes alive in an absolutely delightful way. "Noises Off" is a celebration of the art of theatre and the people who make it possible, bringing all the complexity and beauty of this fascinating world to the stage.
A performance within a performance: "Noises Off" presents a unique insight into the world of theatre, revealing the chaos and comedy behind the scenes.
Clever Humor: The play features a fine and clever sense of humor that will delight audiences of all ages.
A performance produced by the Montage Association and supported by the Bucharest Youth Foundation.
