This is cherry orchard - same as the past⦠Cherry orchard - which is your present existence, your life, which has been pawned and is about to be sold at an auction. This is cherry orchard - same as the present⦠Cherry orchard - territory,Ā where cherry trees are chopped down, territory, which has been turned into a commercial country lots. This is cherry orchard - same as the future⦠For someone all of these can be interpreted as melodrama, drama or tragedy, as for the author - it is all comedy.ā Director David Doiashvili and actors of Bucharest National Theatre try to answer all these questions and more with help from Anton Chekhov: āItās a month of May, life is flowing, everything around me is blooming, and I know that soon I am going to die - isnāt all of these a comedy?ā About Festival Tbilisi international festival of theatre is one of the most important cultural events of autumn Tbilisi. Besides Tbilisi, the festival has become one of the main performing arts events in Caucasia and in the Black Sea countries. Since the creation of the festival, and with much effort, weāve been trying to become one of the chief āparticipantsā on the international cultural map. The festival serves to the enhancement of the cultural landscape. Every festival has its own, unique style and many of them have attempted to become the platforms for discussion. The discussion about the differences of the forms and the stories; new attitudes and unique, brand new viewpoints; modern, unrevealed worlds and their possibilities. Escorted by the audience and the participants of the festival, we want to uncover the world which will enhance our imagination and emotions. We want to go beyond! 20 Years in Siberia at the Romanian Athenaeum
04 October 2017Ā The Memoria Cultural Foundation and The Institute for the Investigation of Communist Crimes and the Memory of the Romanian Exile (IICCMER), with the support of the āGeorge Enescuā Philharmonic and the āI.L. Caragialeā National Theatre of Bucharest, are launching on Wednesday, 4th October 2017, from 6.00 p.m., at the Romanian Athenaeum the number 100 of the "Memoria" magazine. During the event, speakers will include Emil Constantinescu, former Romanian President (1996-2000), Micaela GhiÅ£escu, President of the Memoria Cultural Foundation, Nae Constantinescu, Memoria magazine, Octav Bjoza, President of AFDPR and State Under-Secretary within the State Secretariat for the acknowledgement of the merits of fighters against the Communist regime established in Romania in the period 1945-1989, Radu Preda, IICCMER Executive President. Host of the event: Andrei Dimitriu, manager of the āGeorge Enescuā Philharmonic. The schedule of the event includes a musical moment performed by the Tronos Psalm Group of the Romanian Patriarchy and the dramatic monologue 20 Years in Siberia (after the book "20 Years in Siberia. Memories from Life" by AniÅ£a NandriÅ-Cudla), performed by Amalia Ciolan and directed by Sorin MisirianČu. The show was produced within the programme The Trial of Communism through Theatre of the āI.L. Caragialeā National Theatre of Bucharest. Magic National at Ohrid
07 August 2017In mid vacation, on 7th August 2017, Magic National shall be presented to the Macedonian audience and the foreign visitors, as a guest of the 57th edition of the International Summer Festival, Ohrid 2017. Three of the youngest actors of the Bucharest National Theatre troupe, Emilian MĆ¢rnea, Petre AncuČa and Florin CÄlbÄjos shall remind the faithful spectators of the previous edition, when they enchanted the audience with their ActOrchestra, in the same unconventional performance location, where they are also about to perform Magic National, the court of the Saint Sophia medieval church. Founded in 1961, the Ohrid Summer Festival takes place in a special cultural and historical area. The town, the Ohrid Lake and the above mentioned church are included in the UNESCO World Heritage. On the festival stages, famous voices have resonated over time. Since 1994, the Ohrid International Summer Festival belongs to the European Festivals Association (EFA). The Tempest at Salonic - July 6
06 July 2017The show of the āI.L. Caragialeā National Theatre of Bucharest, The Tempest by William Shakespeare, directed by Alexander Morfov, with Ion Caramitru in the role of Prospero, is invited to the first international edition of the traditional Open Air Theatre Festival of Thessaloniki, NTNG Forest Festival. The Festival, organised under the auspices of the National Theatre of Northern Greece (NTNG) shall be held in the time frame 1-14 July 2017, and the representations with The Tempest are scheduled for 5th and 6th July, from 21.15, at Dassous Theatre (Forest Theatre), with Greek surtitles. The selection panel consisted of Savas Patsalidis, theatre professor and critic, Maria Tsima, actress and artistic director of the National Theatre of Northern Greece (NTNG) and Amalia Kondozanni, playwright and head of the Literary and International Relations department of NTNG. The international selection of the festival is financed through the Operational Programme of the Central Macedonia Region 2014 - 2020. Forest Festival NTNG aspires to become an exclusive framework for getting the townās audience acquainted with contemporary theatrical approaches, from Europe and worldwide, as well as an occasion to highlight major Greek productions, to be presented in Thessaloniki in collaboration with the Hellenic Festival.
