The show of the „I.L. Caragiale” National Theatre of Bucharest, The Tempest by William Shakespeare, directed by Alexander Morfov, with Ion Caramitru in the role of Prospero, is invited to the first international edition of the traditional Open Air Theatre Festival of Thessaloniki, NTNG Forest Festival. The Festival, organised under the auspices of the National Theatre of Northern Greece (NTNG) shall be held in the time frame 1-14 July 2017, and the representations with The Tempest are scheduled for 5th and 6th July, from 21.15, at Dassous Theatre (Forest Theatre), with Greek surtitles. The selection panel consisted of Savas Patsalidis, theatre professor and critic, Maria Tsima, actress and artistic director of the National Theatre of Northern Greece (NTNG) and Amalia Kondozanni, playwright and head of the Literary and International Relations department of NTNG. The international selection of the festival is financed through the Operational Programme of the Central Macedonia Region 2014 - 2020. Forest Festival NTNG aspires to become an exclusive framework for getting the town’s audience acquainted with contemporary theatrical approaches, from Europe and worldwide, as well as an occasion to highlight major Greek productions, to be presented in Thessaloniki in collaboration with the Hellenic Festival.   In the time frame 14 - 21 May 2017, the City of Brașov shall host the fifth edition of the event Comedy Week. Within the framework of this event, the I.L. Caragiale National Theatre of Bucharest shall participate with the show Little Hell on 19 May 2017, from 7.00 p.m. The price of a ticket amounts to 65 RON.     In the conclusion of the Ștefan Iordache Theatre Festival - Caracal 2017, the show No Matter How Hard We Tried directed by Radu Afrim shall be performed. The show of the "I.L. Caragiale" National Theatre of Bucharest No Matter How Hard We Tried shall be performed on Sunday, 30 April 2017, from 7.00 p.m., in the conclusion of the 7th edition of the Ștefan Iordache Theatre Festival - Caracal 2017. A memento, but also a serious alarm, woven into the texture of a dark comedy of the highest quality, No Matter How Hard We Tried brings on stage, under the unmistakable directorial signature of Radu Afrim the Shakespearean "to be or not to be". This time, in an unexpected way, written down by a very young writer, Dorota Masłowska. Enfant terrible of Polish literature, the authoress engages and conquers us with a ravaging story on sacrificed generations, on peace and war, existence and non-existence. The most absurd of all films ever imagined unfolds in front of our eyes, on stage. It is the very image of chaos descended upon the world after the Second World War. The national being and identity do not matter much. The present turns into the past and the past into the future in an instant. And the entire story, with an unpredictable denouement, is scenically spiced up with music-hall moments, travesties, compositions and situation reversals aptly directed by Radu Afrim. In the cast: Dorina Chiriac, Marius Manole (with three consecutive shows in the last two festival days!), Liliana Ghiţă, Istvan Teglas, Florentina Ţilea, Natalia Călin, Cezar Antal. The opening of the Festival took place on Sunday evening, when great actors took the stage of the National Theatre of Caracal. The audience applauded them frantically, in „The Three M” starring Horaţiu Mălăele, Marcel Iureş and George Mihăiţă. The current edition, covering the time frame 23 - 30 April 2017, on the stage of the "Ştefan Iordache" National Theatre of Caracal, is dedicated to another great actor, Gheorghe Dinică, applauded throughout decades both on the stage of the National Theatre of Bucharest, and on the grand stages, in unforgettable creations.
