Romania in Watercolour 2021 15 September 2021
With the onset of the new theatrical season 2021-2022, the season of exhibitions hosted in the foyers of the "I.L. Caragiale" National Theatre reopens, within the NTB Paratheatrical - Visual Arts programme, launched since 2012, with the commissioning of the first remodeled spaces of NTB. Wednesday, September 15th, 2021, at 7.00 p.m., the Media foyer (wing from the Intercontinental Hotel) will host the opening of the second edition of the National Watercolour Painting Exhibitionunder the name Romania in Watercolour, organized by the Painters’ Association of Romania, structure affiliated to the International Watercolour Society (IWS) in partnership with NTB. Special guest at the opening: soprano Felicia Filip, who will give a vocal recital on this occasion. The exhibition will host 133 works signed by 98 watercolour painters, professional or amateur, young or less young, reunited for the second time, still in the NTB spaces. The project proposes a broad and complex approach to the technique of watercolour painting. The International Watercolour Society (International Watercolour Society) is a non-profit organization founded in 2012 by Turkish artist, resident in Canada, Atanur Dogan, and since 2016 also exists in Romania under the name of International Watercolour Society Romania (IWS Romania), chaired by the architect Ovidiu Iovănel. IWS was created to promote the world's oldest painting technique, Watercolour. The goal of IWS is to promote respect, peace and harmony through the use of art - the common language of the whole world. The company's activities involve bringing together watercolour painters and art and watercolour lovers. Watercolour painting has long been neglected and even despised, to the detriment of other techniques. Festivals and exhibitions, national or international, are effective means to promote watercolour painting, presenting exceptional works of art to the world. These events also become points of interaction between artists, collectors and art specialists from different countries. The exhibition will be open for visits until October 15th, 2021, from Monday to Sunday between 10.00 a.m. - 6.00 p.m. Access is free. We remind you that in closed spaces, the wearing of a protective mask and the observance of the distance remain in force. Translated by Simona Nichiteanu
