Scenography Exercises. Models, costumes and sketches
Young designers' workshop in the Rotunda of the NTB Small Hall:
On Friday, November 19th 2021, at 12.00, the Rotonda foyer of the Small Hall of the "I.L. Caragiale" National Theatre of Bucharest will host the opening of the exhibition "Scenography Exercises. Models, costumes and sketches, which includes the creations of the scenography students from the Faculty of Theatre within UNATC "I.L. Caragiale".
The digital version of the exhibition will include, in addition to a virtual photo gallery of the students' works, a mini-documentary on the creation process of the Elizabethan costumes and commedia dell'arte masks. The audience will be able to discover how the model of an imaginary performance is built and will be invited to enter the miniature world of unique creations waiting to become reality on a theatre stage.
"... the present exhibition complements the one included in the programme of the National Theatre Festival - 2021 edition, which ended on 14 November 2021. To the works recently exhibited at the Odeon Theatre in Bucharest in the context of the NTF are added other creations by students of scenography, this being possible thanks to the involvement and openness of our partners, UNATC "I.L. Caragiale" and the "I.L. Caragiale" National Theatre. Moreover, NTB provided us with a very generous exhibition space and, I think, very appropriate to the context. The foyer of the Small Hall is the "antechamber" of a laboratory of young creation that both people in the profession and spectators know as "9G at NTB". To include, therefore, the art of future scenographers in a space dedicated to theatrical experimentation is an achievement that deserves to become a normality"- says Andreea Ciocîrlan, Communication Director of the "Șerban Ionescu" Theatre and Film Festival.
The exhibition can be visited from Tuesday to Sunday from 2.00 to 6.30 p.m.
