Stefan Hrusca – Christmas Carols 26 December 2025
Independent show hosted by the National Theatre of Bucharest. The organiser is exclusively liable for the quality and content of this event! Christmas would not be the same without the voice that, for over three decades, has become the soul of Romanian carols—Stefan Hrusca. This year, the artist returns to the stage with a recital of carols meant to bring us closer to the essence of the holiday and the unaltered beauty of traditions. For Hrusca, each carol is more than a song: it is a sung prayer, a window open to the peace and faith of our ancestors. In his voice, we find the emotion of childhood, the joy of reuniting with loved ones, and the light that transforms the holiday into a true mystery. This year's recital program features a selection of carols with an archaic flavor, as well as beloved songs that have become a staple in Romanian homes around Christmas. With each note, the artist manages to create that unique atmosphere in which time seems to stand still and hearts open to kindness and communion. Stefan Hrusca's warm and powerful voice remains the bridge that connects generations and places, carrying on the tradition of Christmas carols as a gift and a blessing. Whether you are at home or far away, his concert becomes an opportunity to feel that the light of Christmas shines just as brightly in every soul. We look forward to seeing you again this year to let yourself be carried away by the magic of carols and experience, together with Stefan Hrusca, the joy of an authentic Christmas. Extraordinary Christmas performance – 200 years since the birth of Johann StraussMusicians from two famous European orchestras The Orchestra di Teatro D`Opera Italiana, one of the most famous orchestras in Europe, has been applauded on major opera and philharmonic stages around the world. Suffice it to mention a few traditional venues: Brucknerhaus Linz (Linz Philharmonic), Bregenz Festspielhaus (Bregenz Philharmonic), Brunnenhof der Residenz Muenchen (Imperial Palace in Munich), Hofburg Palace in Vienna, Stadthalle Vienna, Meistersingershalle Nuernberg, Kasemattenbuehne Graz, etc. The orchestra's recognition is also due to its collaborations with big names in world opera, soloists, and conductors from the Arena di Verona, Teatro alla Scala in Milan, Teatro dell'Opera di Roma, Vienna State Opera, etc. The members of the Orchestra di Teatro D'Opera Italiana are joined by instrumentalists from the Vox Opera Orchestra, known and appreciated nationally and internationally. It is a new concept in Romania, where instrumentalists from two leading European orchestras join forces to offer the public memorable evenings and unique musical experiences. From Johann Strauss to Bogdan Costache, or about the Viennese model of conducting with a violin in hand! The musical direction of the event will be provided by the young conductor and violinist Bogdan Costache, and thus the soloists and instrumentalists invited from Vienna, Italy, Switzerland, and Germany will perform under the baton of one of the most talented orchestra conductors of the younger generation, born in Romania! Bogdan Costache's presence in the program of this year's Viennese Regale is owed to you, the audience, who already love him so much and have been impressed by his performance, wanting to see him again as soon as possible. Thus, the performance will be interactive, conducted "with violin in hand" following the model of Johann Strauss or, more recently, Andre Rieu. This year, Bogdan will surprise you with many pieces in their national premiere. Romanian music will also be present, with long-forgotten Romanian pieces, as well as wonderful Romanian carols. The performance will be complemented by the Vox Opera choir and balletThe orchestra members will be joined by the Vox Opera Ballet Ensemble with their eagerly awaited waltzes, polkas, and can-cans, in an effervescent and energetic choreography by Vlad Sebastian, so that you will be invited to dance by our orchestras and ballet dancers themselves, with the famous "Alles Walzer!" The beautiful carols and Christmas songs will also shine through the voices of the Vox Opera Choir. This year, you will also enjoy our traditional Romanian carols. Talented young Romanians at the beginning of their careers!Every year, we take on the mission of bringing to your attention and promoting exceptionally talented young Romanian musicians who are at the beginning of their careers but have already won awards at national and international music competitions. The Viennese Ball in your city! The Viennese atmosphere and spirit will captivate you as soon as you enter the concert hall and will remain in your heart as a vivid memory for the coming Christmas and New Year. If you can't make it to the Christmas and New Year concerts in Vienna, we'll bring the Viennese spirit to your city with the most beautiful Viennese musical masterpieces of the Strauss dynasty, Franz Lehar, Emmerich Kalman, and many, many other musical and choreographic surprises.
