This year, the artist returns to the stage with a recital of carols meant to bring us closer to the essence of the holiday and the unaltered beauty of traditions. For Hrusca, each carol is more than a song: it is a sung prayer, a window open to the peace and faith of our ancestors. In his voice, we find the emotion of childhood, the joy of reuniting with loved ones, and the light that transforms the holiday into a true mystery. This year's recital program features a selection of carols with an archaic flavor, as well as beloved songs that have become a staple in Romanian homes around Christmas. Suffice it to mention a few traditional venues: Brucknerhaus Linz (Linz Philharmonic), Bregenz Festspielhaus (Bregenz Philharmonic), Brunnenhof der Residenz Muenchen (Imperial Palace in Munich), Hofburg Palace in Vienna, Stadthalle Vienna, Meistersingershalle Nuernberg, Kasemattenbuehne Graz, etc. The orchestra's recognition is also due to its collaborations with big names in world opera, soloists, and conductors from the Arena di Verona, Teatro alla Scala in Milan, Teatro dell'Opera di Roma, Vienna State Opera, etc. The members of the Orchestra di Teatro D'Opera Italiana are joined by instrumentalists from the Vox Opera Orchestra, known and appreciated nationally and internationally. From Johann Strauss to Bogdan Costache, or about the Viennese model of conducting with a violin in hand!The musical direction of the event will be provided by the young conductor and violinist Bogdan Costache, and thus the soloists and instrumentalists invited from Vienna, Italy, Switzerland, and Germany will perform under the baton of one of the most talented orchestra conductors of the younger generation, born in Romania! Bogdan Costache's presence in the program of this year's Viennese Regale is owed to you, the audience, who already love him so much and have been impressed by his performance, wanting to see him again as soon as possible. Thus, the performance will be interactive, conducted "with violin in hand" following the model of Johann Strauss or, more recently, Andre Rieu.This year, Bogdan will surprise you with many pieces in their national premiere. Romanian music will also be present, with long-forgotten Romanian pieces, as well as wonderful Romanian carols. Talented young Romanians at the beginning of their careers!Every year, we take on the mission of bringing to your attention and promoting exceptionally talented young Romanian musicians who are at the beginning of their careers but have already won awards at national and international music competitions. This year, the very young guitarist Gabriel Popescu will perform alongside our orchestra, accompanied by his teacher and mentor Mădălin Antonesei. The responsibility for the quality and content of this event lies solely with the organiser!   For over two decades, the Christmas concerts of the Johann Strauss Ensemble, conducted by the charismatic Russell McGregor, have been a beloved tradition for Romanian audiences. In 2025, this successful musical story returns on a national tour in Romania with an exceptional anniversary concert, in which the famous Viennese orchestra will celebrate 200 years since the birth of Johann Strauss Jr. – the "Waltz King." The event in Bucharest will take place on December 15, 2025, at 8:00 p.m., in the elegant Ion Caramitru Hall of the National Theater, and promises an evening of Viennese refinement and authentic musical emotion. The special guest of the evening is soprano Elisabeth Wimmer, an artist acclaimed on major European stages, who has already won over Romanian audiences in previous tours with the Johann Strauss Ensemble. With her warm voice and brilliant timbre, she will add extra magic to the famous Viennese repertoire. The audience in Bucharest will be treated to a spectacular musical program, featuring works by the Strauss family, as well as pieces from the universal classical repertoire. The immortal waltzes, polkas, and marches will revive the atmosphere of the imperial balls in Vienna, transforming the evening into a true celebration of music. Russell McGregor, an internationally renowned conductor and violinist, leads the orchestra in the "Stehgeiger" style, as a soloist, like the masters of the 19th century. His violin, created in 1697 by luthier Carlo Giuseppe Testore, will bring to life the elegant sounds that have delighted entire generations. The Johann Strauss Ensemble, founded in 1985, has become a benchmark for Viennese music, performing on the most prestigious stages in the world. In Romania, each concert of the orchestra has enjoyed extraordinary success, with tickets selling out long before the show. With this concert, Bucharest will kick off a national tour that promises musical surprises in every city. On December 15, at the NTB, the audience in the capital is invited to experience an unforgettable evening full of elegance, emotion, and Viennese charm. As part of this national tour in December, the concert will include the composer's most beloved masterpieces, as well as works by contemporary composers and friends of his. Moreover, a special moment of the show will be the world premiere of recently discovered works, considered lost forever after a devastating fire that destroyed the library that housed them in Austria. These unique scores are now in the exclusive possession of conductor Russell McGregor, and the Best of Vienna tour will be the first time in history that these creations will be performed on stage!
