The fourth edition of the Playwriting Workshop led by actor and writer Mimi Brănescu will conclude with a series of staged readings presented between June 2 and 6, 2026, at the Media Hall of the National Theater of Bucharest. Conceived by Mimi Brănescu with the support of the National Theater of Bucharest (TNB), the project reflects, with each edition, the Bucharest National Theater’s ongoing commitment to supporting the new generation of playwrights and fostering their artistic debuts on a professional theater stage.

“No Signal” follows a few days in the life of Diana, a young actress caught between a time-consuming job, a relationship falling apart, and the question she’s been putting off for years: should she stay in Bucharest or return home to Botoșani?

I am Diana Amitroaie, an actress and graduate of the “George Enescu” National University of Arts in Iași. I love watching people, analyzing them, and stealing a little bit from each of them for my characters and stories. I live life intensely, I cry more than I’d like to admit, and I feel my best when I’m near the sea.

I am grateful to Mimi for teaching me that writing begins with observation and a willingness to pay attention to the world. Since then, I have been trying to transform what I see, hear, and feel into stories that speak of others as well, not just of myself.
