Biloxi Blues Premiere
The program Open doors for everybody was launched 5 years ago and, for the first time at NTB, it addresses a young project, to which it will dedicate one of its six halls in the future configuration of the Bucharest's National Theatre. Until its inauguration, Biloxi Blues will be played at the Black Box, starting with 8th March, at 20.00. The official premiere will take place Thursday, 29th March, at 20.00.
With a distribution formed of UNATC graduates, acting class of Prof. Mircea Rusu, Biloxi Blues offers young actors bold scores, actors who wish to have a great performance in the profession they have chosen. Performance is also what the NTB has in mind, by supporting young playwrights, directors and actors with the help of the ‘Open doors for everybody program'.
Biloxi Blues is one of Broadway's most acclaimed successes, and its author, Neil Simon, is the most staged and awarded contemporary American playwright. A text that is comic and bitter at the same time, a story about maturation, army, love, sexuality, about life, with its constraints and its preconceptions. A fresh and captivating show, performed at the intensity of the characters' young age.
As a professor and director, the actor Mircea Rusu discovered and guided a group of extremely talented young actors whose members, we are confident, will top the bill at the future representations on the Romanian stages.
