Bucharest - One Heart. One Story.
16 September 2020561 years since the first documentary attestation of Bucharest Between September 16th and 20th, 2020 - we celebrate the Capital in a safe setting of access to art and culture: ⢠Exhibition of moving urban art: personalized trams with graffiti; ⢠iMapp Bucharest 2020 International Festival online; ⢠Video projections on the facades of some buildings in the heart of the city - the "I.L. Caragiale" National Theatre of Bucharest, InterContinental Hotel and the University of Bucharest. To mark the celebration of the 561st anniversary of the first documentary attestation of Bucharest, the Capital City Hall, through Creart, proposes to the audience the special project Bucharest - One Heart. One Story. This dynamic concept, which will take place between September 16th and 20th, 2020, can be enjoyed by anyone, safely. Hosted in the open air, the project āBucharest - One Heart. One Story. ā will reach the major areas of the Capital, emphasizing the ability of art both to traverse various environments and social contexts, as well as to celebrate the city through unity, messages, colour and beauty. It does not involve crowding participants in dedicated public gatherings, but bringing artistic acts on their daily route, as follows: The exhibition of moving urban art "Bucharest - One Heart. One Story. ā: From September 20th to December 10th, 2020,Seven tram sets (lines 1, 10, 21, 25, 27, 40 and 41), which transit the most important areas of the Capital, will be transformed into a real moving graffiti exhibition by some of the best street artists in Bucharest, coordinated by curator Mihai Zgondoiu: Irlo, Home Boy, Kero Zen, Ocu, Mser, Obie Platon, Erps, Square Cat, Robert Obert, John Dot's , Mircea Modreanu, Lux, Mircea Popescu, Graffetele (Irina Mocanu, Sandy BÄlÄČoiu), Livi Po, Sweet Damage Crew (To, Shatran, Pandele, Cage). Thus, art reaches the eyes of viewers, without the need to bring people together in an event and a dedicated space. From September 20th, in partnership with the Bucharest Transport Society, the moving mural art exhibition will offer Bucharest residents a modern cultural alternative, whereby the identity of an effervescent and vibrant Bucharest is expressed - stories that transcend images and challenge the viewer to see beyond them. And to discover, in another way, this phenomenon of urban art, as well as the beautifully outlined messages of street artists. Video projections on the facades of three buildings in the heart of the Capital - University Square: Sunday - September 20th, 2020In order to offer the public, in safe conditions, a unique show, with the theme of a strong message - "Bucharest - One Heart. Caragiale ā National Theatre, the InterContinental Hotel and the University of Bucharest. The projections will not have sound, and the artistic content will be short-lived (in a loop), so that passers-by do not park, thus avoiding congestion. These screenings will animate the downtown Capital on Sunday, September 20th, on Bucharest Day, between 8:30 and 11:00 p.m. Three of the most important teams of video artists in Romania will create video content on the theme āBucharest - One Heart. One Story. ā And various animations will run on each building, which will be synchronized to create a perfect show. The project āBucharest - One Heart. One Story. ā revolves around the solidarity campaign "One World. One Heart. ā, initiated by the iMapp Bucharest International Video Mapping Festival, organized by the Capital City Hall, courtesy of creart, through which a message of solidarity and hope was sent that resonated worldwide, in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic. La Vie en Rose
07 March 2020Concert-Show Emy Dragoi & Grande Orchestra What happens when the music in the "City of lights" encounters the music in Little Paris? A show loaded with energy, colour and passion, a show that brings along, then transmitting them to the public, the melody of the accordion, the perfume of music from famous Parisian neighborhoods and authentic Romanian folk harmonies reinterpreted. Grande Orchestra and Emy Dragoi set the stage for a musical collaboration full of fantasy and originality, which will take the spectator from the streets of Paris, from the bridges of the Seine, from the small bistros in Montparnasse to the Bucharest bridge Mogosoaia, the famous Royal Palace and the well-known passage, Lipscani. All in a festive atmosphere, in the style of the twenties and thirties, on the rhythms of some musical genres - swing and manouche - with a special charm, which have made and continue to make history. A milestone show that faces the audience with total artists: Emy Dragoi, Ion Caramitru, Toni Grecu. Along with them will appear on stage Grand Orchestra - an orchestra that gathers valuable instrumentalists: 20 violinists, piano, percussion, bass, guitar, etc., Alls'choir - a choir consisting of soloists from the Romanian Opera in Bucharest, but also Magic Violin. The hypostasis in which artists present themselves to the audience may seem unusual, but is fully justified by their artistic background. Emy Dragoi is an artist who does not need any more introductions. He has won countless competitions, played on the most important stages of the world, reached the performance of being designated, even in France - the homeland of the accordion - as the "Accordionist of the year". āI was born in Prahova, to a family of musicians from the Slanic Valley. My parents, uncles, distant relatives, were all in the news, being called to weddings and other parties. My father was giving accordion lessons and I keep alive the image from the summers of my childhood when, under the walnut tree in the yard, he sat for hours surrounded by students. Both parents performed both instrumentally and vocally, being cherished especially for the performance of old songs. My whole childhood, like my whole life, is related to music. There are many memories, but I have never forgotten nor will I forget the day when, at the age of only 3, I received my first accordion as a gift. I feel best on stage. Out of respect for the audience, I am never satisfied with what I do and I always set my mind on more. I have always admired those who managed to excel in one field or another, thus also in the musical one. Of course I compare myself to the best in the field, but not in order to copy them, but to succeed in my turn to become better and better. We promise you a show that has never been created in Romania and you may not miss it ā. Emy Dragoi Ā Translated by Simona NichiteanuĀ

Alina Ciolca & Band - Darkness and Light
03 February 2020Private event hosted by the National Theatre of Bucharest. The organiser is exclusively liable for the quality and content of this event! Dusty Ride Cultural AssociationA Vlach folklore concert reinterpreted with Alina Ciolca and her guestsGrigore Lese, Altona Ensemble, Cristian Chiriac, Anca Constantin at the NTB Painting Hall."Darkness and light: incursions into the Vlach song from the northern and southern Danube bank" - a conceptual folklore concert reinterpreted "otherwise", scheduled for February 3rd, 2020 at the Painting Hall of the National Theatre of Bucharest.Alina Ciolca (voice), accompanied by Adrian Chepa (percussion, bass, drum) and Bogdan Binga (electric guitar), (re) interprets traditional songs not only in different Romanian Northern-Danube tongues, but also in Aromanian, Meglenoromanian and Istroromanian, highlighting a musical heritage of the reunited and reconstituted oriental Romanianhood, historically rendered under the generic concept of "Vlach". A unity in diversity, relatively unknown to the general audience, beyond any commercial approaches.Alina CiolcÄ will have as guests: the well-known artist and researcher Grigore LeČe, the ensemble of dances and traditional Meglenoromanian songs "Altona", Cristian Chiriac (the voice of the ethno-rock band Iarba Fiarelor), actress Anca Constantin. The show will also include the launch of a video of a traditional meglenoromanian love song entitled "Chitu Mila" ("Dear Chitu" in Daco-Romanian), filmed in the commune of Cerna (Tulcea County), where the only compact community of Meglenoromanians in the country lives. The repertoire and the staging will illustrate, with variations of intensities and frequencies, antitheses and thematic tensions revealed in the Vlach folklore of the northern and southern Danube bank, probing, in fact, nothing but luminous or darker, yet always complementary, transfigurations of the human soul, ranging from love to jealousy, from longing to alienation, from rebellion to reconciliation. The unique accompaniment and a vocal performance that keeps the elements of traditional song unaltered will tell the stories of these songs in all their regional colour.Beyond the cultural purposes of this show, it does not aim to be and is not an elitist one. At the entrance to the concert hall there is no need for theoretical initiation, but only for feeling and opening to a stirring of the soul ... Traces
09 January 2020The show Traces will be presented for the first time in Bucharest, during the festival Europalia Romania, thus opening the international tour of the company Ultima Vez / Wim Vandekeybus, with a unique performance at the "IL Caragiale" National Theatre of Bucharest, on January 9th, 2020. The event is organized by the Romanian Cultural Institute, in partnership with the āIL Caragialeā National Theatre of Bucharest and the Europalia Arts Festival Brussels. The show Traces is part of the performing arts program of the Europalia Romania festival, curated by Andreea Capitanescu. In his new show, Traces, Wim Vandekeybus returns to the body, to the instinctive reaction, to the immediate energy that dictated the pace of his first shows. Taking into account the contemporary, complex, chaotic and contingent reality of bodies, Traces is not about the outside world, about the culture developed by man, but about exploring the traces of nature that the body has forgotten.Traces is a rediscovery of a vulnerable vitality, in a world full of technological and ecological threats. Wim Vandekeybus looks back at the insights from the beginning of his choreographic pursuits: the drama of impulses and instincts; at the interplay of energies and intensities. In the overwhelming nature of Romania, with the last virgin forests of Europe, Vandekeybus seeks traces older than man and his memory. Traces is the evocation of an "inner story", the story that takes place before or beyond language and can only be told through the impulses of dance and music. Traces is a search for the traces of nature that the body has forgotten or repressed. Video Ā Video The Ultima Vez company was founded in 1986 by the choreographer, stage director and filmmaker Wim Vandekeybus. Since its establishment, Ultima Vez has developed its activities as an international contemporary dance company based in Brussels and Flanders.Wim Vandekeybus was born in Herenthout on June 30th, 1963. After high school, Wim Vandekeybus went to Louvain to study psychology. In 1985, he got an audition with the famous choreographer Jan Fabre who entrusted him with a role in "The Power of Theatrical Madness". A year later, Vandekeybus founded Ultima Vez. His first show, "What the Body Does Not Remember," became an international hit. In all its different productions, Ultima Vez remains true to its own language of movement. Tension, conflict, the body facing the mind, risks and impulses. Each time, passion, intuition and instinct will take a different form in his performances. EuropaliaThe International Art Festival Europaliais considered the largest cultural event in Belgium, being organized under the patronage of the Royal Family of Belgium, every two years, in Belgium and in neighboring countries - France, the Netherlands, Luxembourg and Germany or the United Kingdom.
