The NTB Conferences

26 September 2011

On Sunday, September 25th, starting with 11 a.m., at The Black Box from NTB there will be held the first conference of the new season: "Chances lost, chances grasped" by Nicolae Raţiu. Tickets can be found at the price of 23 lei or 10 lei. "Ion Raţiu did his part of sowing the seeds of the future. It's a shame that in some cases only now does Romania reap the benefits. Maybe than, immediately after the revolution, the time was not right but I am grateful to my father for having kept on fighting and never turning his back to his people and country. I am grateful because after fifty years of exile he has dedicated his final ten years, spent in Romania, still to the present and future of his country. I like to believe that no matter where he may be, my father smiles now, knowing that his heritage is being perpetuated and that Romanian people do remember him dearly as ‘the best president that Romania did not have' ". The Magician will open the new season!

19 September 2011

Sunday, the 25th  of September, at 11:00, you are invited at the opening of the Children's National Theatre's 11th season, in Hall 99 (the entrance is at the Amphitheatre Hall, next to the ticket agency) of the Bucharest National Theatre. The Children's National Theatre invites you to Reconstruct Fairytales. Along with the rehabilitation of the TNB, that will soon have a new look, a new architectonic appearance. Between the falsework that surrounds the National Theatre, in the whirl of the craftsmen who are in a hurry to rebuild the emblematic building of the Romanian Theatre, the Fairytale Magician, the Good Fairy and their assistant actors have lost the Book of Immortal Fairytales. The Magician has lost his top hat that helps him remember the fairytales! The summer vacation was a real nightmare for Magi, because he could remember only parts of fairytales. If you want to help him, come on Sunday the 25th of September, at 11:00, to the Bucharest National Theatre's Hall 99! Together with the Fairytale Magician, we will Reconstruct the immortal fairytales! Please do not get scared of the TNB building's outside look! If you cannot find the room, you can look for the colour spot of the curtain that will flap for you, dear children. The coloured curtain will be the definite signal that the Magician is expecting you in the TNB's Hall 99. We Reconstruct the Immortal Fairytales together with you, dear children!

Successful turnout in Macedonia

13 September 2011

The Bucharest National Theater's show, No Exit by Jean Paul Sartre was performed on the 8th of September 2011, at the opening of the "Risto Šiškov" International Festival of Chamber Theatre, in Macedonia. The festival from Strumica is dedicated to the memory of a very important figure of the Macedonian entertainment, Risto Šiškov, and to the performance artistry. It gained its notoriety along the eighteen editions, at the beginning on a local plan, and afterwards in the Balkan area too.   At this high-class cultural event, that took place between 8-13.09.11, also participated: "Ivan Vazov" National Theatre from Sofia, The "Ivan Radoev" Theatre from Plevna (Bulgaria), the "Joakim Vujić" Theatre from Kraguievac (Serbia), The "Sartr" Theatre from Sarajevo (Bosnia Herzegovina), The "Dodona" Theatre from Pristina, The Drama Theatre from Skopje, The Turkish Theatre from Skopje, The "Voidan Chernodrinski" Theatre from Prilep (Republic of Macedonia), The National Theatre from Bitola (Republic of Macedonia) and The "Anton Panov" Theatre from Strumica. The Romanian Embassy from Skopje sent the management of the National Theatre from Bucharest a congratulatory letter for the remarkable participation and also some outstanding impressions about the quality of the performance and originality of the enactment. In this letter it is mentioned: "The critics and the audience that participated at the drama show No Exit in Strumica have remarked, all in the same key, the exceptional original directorial enactment realized by Mircea Anca, as well as the remarkable artistic performance  of the actors that participated in the play: Constantin Dinulescu, Carmen Ionescu and Iuliana Moise. The remarkable interpretation was appreciated, especially because of the extremely suggestive manner in that the Romanian actors managed to give life, extremely natural and with an outstanding talent, to the very intensive interior emotions of the extremely complex characters created by J. P. Sartre: Joseph Garcin, Inès Serrano and Estelle Rigault". In the discussions held by the representative of our diplomatic mission at the inaugural evening of the "International Festival of Chamber Theatre" with Zoran Zaev, the mayor of the Strumica municipality and Vanco Ristov - Patrikov, the director of this cultural manifestation of tradition in the Balkan area, the interlocutors accentuated the exceptional value of the Romanian classic and contemporary dramatic art that enjoys a high appreciation on an international scale, at this festival and they stressed, at the same time, the excellent artistic performance of the TNB team.'   Translated by: Izabella Feher MTTLC, Bucharest University
