Romanian Artists for Ukrainian Artists Campaign at TNB
The "I.L. Caragiale" National Theater from Bucharest through the "Ion Sava" Centre for Research and Theatrical Creation, joins the humanitarian campaign Romanian Artists for Ukrainian Artists, initiated by UNITER in partnership with the Worldwide Reading Project and CITD (The Center for International Theater Development) in Baltimore, a campaign involving many state and independent cultural institutions in Romania and The Republic of Moldova, in order to raise funds for Ukrainian artists.
Thus, on June 12, 14 and 16, 2022, the TNB Media Hall, will host a series of reading performances, based on texts written by Ukrainian authors, after the outbreak of the war in Ukraine, translated by Raluca Rădulescu. Proceeds from ticket sales will be collected by UNITER and transferred to the account of the National Union of Theater Artists from Ukraine (Solidarity in Theater Account: RO22RNCB0072049712860086 opened at BCR – District 1 Branch).
The reading performances are scheduled as follows:
June 12, 2022, 2.30 pm
Our Children by Natalia Blok, directed by Vlad Massaci, with Maia Morgenstern;
Survivor Syndrome by Andrii Bondarenko, directed by Vlad Massaci, with Marius Bodochi;
Dictionary of Wartime Emotions by Elena Astasieva, directed by Claudiu Goga, with Emilia Popescu.
June 14, 2022, 7 pm
We Plant an Apple Tree by Irina Gareț, directed by Vladimir Anton, with Oana Pellea;
I Want To Go Home by Oksana Savcenko, directed by Vladimir Anton, with Ilinca Goia;
My Country by Liudmila Timoșenko, directed by Eugen Gyemant, with Florentina Țilea.
June 16, 2022, 7 pm
The Russian Soldier by Igor Biliț, directed by Răzvan Popa, with Aylin Cadîr, Ionuț Toader, Edi Adam;
Let’s Call Them by Their Names by Tetiana Kițenko, directed by Răzvan Popa, with Amalia Ciolan;
Sasha, Take Out the Garbage by Natalia Vorojbit, directed by Răzvan Oprea, with Amalia Ciolan, Marcelo Cobzariu, Fulvia Folosea.
As part of this campaign, on June 5, 2022, at 8 pm, the "Sala Mică" Hall will host the ActOrchestra show, directed by Horia Suru.
The National Theater from Bucharest invites its spectators to a gesture of normalcy and solidarity, in support of the dignity of Ukrainian artists.
