The NTB Amphitheatre - A Summer in 78 Performances
This summer, the NTB Amphitheatre, the only stage in Romania built in the open air and within the premises of a theatre, counted 78 performances performed up on the building, in this unique space. The actors of the National Theatre showed their professionalism and responsibility in adapting the performances, their effort and talent being appreciated by the audience every night.
From June 15th to September 27th, the NTB Amphitheatre was a place of art, of actors, of culture-loving audiences. The turbulent reality imposed by the pandemic that we have been living for half a year, made this summer season at the Amphitheatre represent - both concretely and symbolically - the return of artists on stage and spectators to the hall.
When the live theatre seemed that it could not return soon and that online is the only option of the moment, the National Theatre of Bucharest brought to the audience, at the Amphitheatre, two successful premieres: Romanian Diary. 1989 (a multimedia documentary theatre show, directed by Carmen Lidia Vidu, with Oana Pellea, Ion Caramitru, Florentina Țilea and Daniel Badale) andM from Murphy (a drama-dance show with independent artists, performed by Andrea Gavriliu within the 9G Programme the NTB).
Also, two major cultural events took place at the NTB Amphitheatre: the HOP 2020 Young Actor’s Gala (September 3-6) and the White Night of Romanian Film (September 18th).
The season Summer nights, up, on the theatregivesevidence that, by strictly following the protection rules against Covid-19, we can safely return to the theatre. Now, our invitation is moving to the theatre halls. The summer premieres at the Amphitheatre can be witnessed inside, in the same safe conditions for the spectators and for the National Theatre team.
The show Romanian Diary. 1989 can be seen on October 1st at the Grand Hall, and M from Murphy is scheduled for October 11th at the Small Hall. Watch the complete schedule of the theatre on tnb.ro and mystage.ro.
