The weekend of this end of May brings to your attention a big hit from the repertoire of past seasons, "Breaking News" by Mihail Sebastian, directed by Anca Ovanez Dorosenco, the talented director recently disappeared from us (died in Nice on May 16th, 2020) to whom we thus pay a respectful tribute. The show can be watched online, in an archive recording, made with the technical means of 2003, when the premiere took place.
So, here is the schedule of the conferences that will be broadcast in the week of May 25th - 31st, 2020 at NTB online:

Weekend with great actors in a terribly topical story, about… interwar Bucharest: Breaking News!
On Friday, May 29th, 2020, from 4.00 p.m., Saturday May 30th and Sunday, May 31st, starting from 6.00 p.m., we will meet one of the most charming plays of Romanian drama, "Breaking News" by Mihail Sebastian, a virulent satire, directed by the late Anca Ovanez Doroșenco, featuring an adequate staging and cast: Claudiu Bleonţ, Mircea Albulescu, Ilinca Goia, Marin Moraru, Gheorghe Dinică, Constantin Dinulescu, Ioan Andrei Ionescu, Marcelo Cobzariu, Mihai Niculescu, Liviu Crăciun , Alexandru Hasnaş, Carmen Ionescu, Raluca Petra, Silvia Năstase. Sets: Mihai Mădescu; Costumes: Luana Drăgoescu.
"Breaking News" is a captivating love story, in the midst of an unscrupulous world, not very different from the one we live in. An up-to-date play like a newspaper story - as characterized by the director of the memorable staging.
"Breaking News" has enjoyed great success since its launch. The absolute premiere took place on the stage of the Bucharest National, on January 23rd, 1946, directed by the debutant at that time, Moni Ghelerter. An anthological staging, immediately followed by the consecration of the director. Since then, the play has seen numerous stagings and interesting performances. "In today's interpretation, inspired by immediate contemporaneity, Anca Ovanez Doroșenco uses as pillars money and a world without political ideals, the levers of the corrupt mechanism being the media, business and culture" - wrote at the premiere critic Ludmila Patlanjoglu, in Cotidianul.
History professor Andronic, "the lost dreamer, disconnected from reality", on a romantic quest, in the footsteps of Alexander the Great, finds himself, due to typographical errors, including a word with multiple references, in the jungle of the interwar Romanian press, but especially a target of a dreaded businessman, Bucșan. Through the clash between two diametrically opposed worlds, Mihail Sebastian manages to build a social satire of great resonance for our present.
"Negotiations" worthy of the "blackmail and floor" tradition. Natalia Stancu, "Curierul Naţional". "An unmissable show, because it offers a genuine joy to any theatre lover." Ileana Lucaciu, "Romania Libera".
