The NTB-online schedule, in the week of April 27 - May 3, 2020

The show Scourge, directed by Radu Afrim, is broadcast during the weekend!
Starting this week, the NTB-Online Conferences schedule is changing. The conferences will be broadcast daily, from Monday to Thursday, one title each, starting from 2.00 p.m. However, the NTB online conferences remain available for viewing on NTB's youtube channel even after the end of the live broadcast.
As of April 24th, 2020, the Bucharest National Theatre has launched the programme NTB Online Shows. In order for the spectators to have more opportunities to watch the performances from the archive of the National Theatre of Bucharest, we will broadcast a title every week. The show of the week will be broadcast, however, in a live streaming system on each of the three days of the weekend: Friday, starting with 4.00 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday, at 6.00 p.m. NTB online shows can only be watched at the announced times, no longer being available online after the end of the live broadcast.
Conferences you can see this week:
April 27th: Radu Penciulescu - The Long Path of the Text towards the stage (held on June 13th, 2010)
April 28th: Alex Ștefănescu - Who Needs Literature Today? (held on March 22th, 2015)
April 29th: Constanța Vintilă-Ghițulescu - Amusement and Banqueting in Phanariot Bucharest (18th-19th Centuries) (held on April 2nd, 2017)
April 30th: Gheorghe Florescu - Our Daily Coffee and Dissent (held on September 20th, 2009).
Scourge after I.L. Caragiale is this weekend's show, broadcast on the NTB Youtube channel (http://www.youtube.com/c/TeatrulNaţionalILCaragialeBucurești).
The Scourge of the classic, directed by the innovative Radu Afrim, ended in force the very successful programme, 2012 - Caragiale Year at NTB. 7 years since its premiere, the show that inaugurated the Media Hall, one of the halls with which the theatre was enriched after the reconfiguration, is preparing for a new release in the world.
With the same surprising scenery, this weekend, Scourge will celebrate another… premiere, moving from the space of a theatre to the virtual space. The new premiere is due to the images recorded by the operator Mihai Bodea and the editing by Radu Stancu.
Scourge, to be seen now: online! A strong sensory show, out of the ordinary, intriguing, maybe, but it will certainly not go unnoticed this time either. Crina Semciuc, Marius Manole, Mihai Călin and Emilian Oprea create an effervescent world, to which the music composed by Luiza Zan and Valentin Luca adds a strange thrill. A setting of the urban daily life, but loaded with telluric details, signed by Vanda Maria Sturdza, extended in a surreal parade of costumes by Cosmin Florea replenishes the obsessive atmosphere of the show. We also recommend that you, joining the director, read or reread Caragiale's drama before you see the show. You will better understand the intentions and vision of the show's creator, as well as his statement from the time of the premiere: “I rarely attempted established texts, but when I did, I felt the need to leave traces. It would be useless to have a prudent reading at Scourge (…) I walked with Lorca, I got familiar with Chekhov ... do you think that Caragiale will refuse me ?! ” Radu Afrim
From May 1st to 3rd, 2020, with a single performance, on Friday - from 4.00 p.m., Saturday and Sunday - from 6.00 p.m., on the Youtube channel of the National Theatre, Scourge!
