Acid, ironic, biting, the social and political satire written by one of the most famous Romanian authors of the interwar period proves to be surprisingly topical today, 100 years after its first staging - Liviu Rebreanu's The Envelope builds a universe in which love intrigues, political chicanery, the struggle for power, people with lights and shadows that give life to a provincial community meet.
In this small town with a big station, where rivalries are the order of the day and plots are everywhere, Mayor Arzareanu knows the principles of the game best, so he resorts to every trick in the book to win a new mandate, even if this sometimes means taking advantage of his loved ones to achieve his goals.
In the stage version of a very successful director - Dan Tudor, with an artistic team loved by the public, the Romanian Dramatists Theatre proposes you to see a perfect comedy that passes the test of time.
