NTB is preparing for a new premiere, Incognito by Nick Payne!
In the summer of 2020, ithosted 78 shows performed upstairs on the theatre, in this unique space. The actors of the National Theatre showed their professionalism and responsibility in adapting the performances, their effort and talent being appreciated by the public every night. When the live theatre seemed that it could not return soon and that online is the only option of the moment, the National Theatre of Bucharest brought to the audience’s attention, within the Amphitheatre, two successful premieres: Romanian Diary. 1989 (a multimedia documentary theatre show, directed by Carmen Lidia Vidu, with Oana Pellea, Ion Caramitru, Florentina Țilea and Daniel Badale) and M from Murphy (a theatre-dance show with independent artists, performed by Andrea Gavriliu within the 9G Programme at NTB).
At the Black Box Hall, the preparations for a new show are hitting the home stretch, Incognito by Nick Payne, one of the most famous young English playwrights and screenwriters. An emotional play about people who have lost their mind, about other people who have lost their memory and about people who want to forget, taking refuge in alcohol, drugs, or imagination. A project within the "Open Doors for Everyone" Programme.
Under the coordination of director Zsuzsanna Kovacs, the actors of the National Theatre, Monica Davidescu, Aylin Cadîr, Ovidiu Cuncea and Lari Giorgescu achieve an extraordinary acting performance, playing over 20 roles.
